NRI's Organized Grand Memorial To Arjun

Fords, NJ: The Telugu Indian community organized a grand memorial and paid rich tributes and homage to the departed Telugu leader Arjun Reddy Dyapa (54), a popular pharmacy business leader in Trenton NJ. He has passed away in a brutal gunshot and robbery by an unidentified gunman at his Brunswick Pharmacy in Trenton on April 29th.

A memorial service was held on May 14, 2011 at Royal Albert’s Palace, Fords, New Jersey.  Friends, relatives and well wishers have organized this memorial event to mourn his untimely demise and to pay homage to the great community leader. A candle vigil was also held at the venue by over 1000 people who attended the memorial service. 

“Arjun”, as he was known to everyone in the Indian community in the Northeast areas, did B.pharm (1984) from Kakatiya University, Warangal, and earned M.S. Pharma Sciences from Long Island University. He was a pharmacist for more than 25 years and dedicated his life to taking care of people in Trenton, NJ. Despite from humble family, he worked very hard with strong resolve and operated the pharmacy business and helped many people in this area. 

“Arjun Dyapa left us with good memories of his friendship, selfless leadership and his doctrine of social service to the community” said by many of his friends, relatives and pharmacy colleagues.

He lived like a king and worked like a soldier, said “Friends-of-Arjun”, a team comprising Mohan Talamati, Malla Reddy, Mahender Musuku, Samba Reddy, Amar Reddy, Ram Reddy, Ravi Gummakonda, Rajender, Brahmaji Valiveti, Gangadhar Desu, Parmesh Bheemreddy, Balwanth, Srinivas Ganagoni, Suresh Reddy, Gade Srinivas, Surendranath and many other friends, who are instrumental in organizing the memorial service.

He is survived with wife and daughter, and extended family of brothers, sisters and other family members. He has a huge fan base of followers and friends who admired his services and mourned his tragic death.

It is simply overwhelming….. heart touching …. to witness so many condolence meetings in the US, memorials in India and abroad, and several events that are being organized honoring Arjun Dyapa, said family members.

All Telugu associations in the US, including TANA, ATA, NATA, NATS and local Telugu organizations in the Tri-state area, TLCA, TFAS, TAGDV have participated in the memorial services. Representative from each of these organizations eulogized Arjun Reddy for his selfless leadership and doctrine of social service to fellow Telugus and Indian community.

Friends of Arjun, a group of close friends and colleagues of Arjun Dyapa have announced the formation of a memorial trust in his name to continue his legacy and carry out the good things he did to the Indian community. Over 100 people pledged to support the trust activities.

“My dad was my hero and an extraordinary man who accomplished a lot in a short span of his life” said Pooja Dyapa, daughter of Arjun Dyapa.

The memorial service was extended to over 5 hours due to demand by many friends and colleagues of Arjun Dyapa, who shared their memories and thoughts of the departed soul. The local pharmacy business owners have shared their association with Arjun Dyapa who helped in flourishing the pharmacy store business in New Jersey and New York towns.

Arjun Dyapa is no more with us, but he will always be in our minds because of several good things he did to us, said the organizers of the memorial service. The Dyapa family members thanked all organizers for such a grand memorial event.
