North America's Tallest Lord Ram Statue Unveiled

A grand 51-foot statue of Lord Rama has been unveiled in Mississauga, Canada; now the tallest Lord Ram idol in all of North America.

The statue, sculpted by renowned artist Naresh Kumar Kumawat at the Matu Ram Art Center in Manesar, India, was shipped to Canada in several parts and later assembled by a team of engineers from the US.

Made from fiberglass and steel; materials also used in aircraft manufacturing; the structure stands as a symbol of faith, culture, and engineering excellence.

The inauguration ceremony saw a massive turnout of devotees, community members, and dignitaries, including Minister of Women and Gender Equality Recher Valdez, President of the Treasury Board Shafqat Ali, and Minister of International Trade Maninder Sidhu.

“We’re seeing visitors from New York, New Jersey, and beyond. People want to witness the tallest Ram statue in Canada,” said the founder of the Hindu Heritage Center, where the statue has been installed.

Calling the installation a matter of national pride, Minister Sidhu said, “This is something to be very proud of.”

Acharya Surinder Sharma Shastri, the center’s founder and head priest, described the unveiling as “a spiritual gift to the community” and “a reminder that righteousness must always guide our path.”

Event organiser Kushagr Sharma said over 10,000 people gathered for the unveiling ceremony, adding, “This is not just a celebration of faith but a proud moment for all Canadians who value cultural harmony and spiritual heritage.”

Located near Toronto Pearson International Airport, the towering Ram idol is set to become one of the first landmarks visible to arriving passengers; a striking symbol of devotion and unity.
