A glittering ceremony marked the board meeting of North American Telugu Association (NATA) in Las Vegas where over 400 members participated.
The meeting saw people attending from various walks of life and eliciting their views. The meeting started with a prayer followed by opening remarks by outgoing president Mr. AVN Reddy. He welcomed the members and thanked them for being part of the board meeting.
Dr. Prem Reddy chair of Advisory Council invited all the members and outlaid the importance of the objectives and purposes of NATA as an organization. He felt extremely joyous with the board and how NATA as a whole is dedicating its selfless services to the Telugu community.
Dr. Malla Reddy Pailla member of Advisory Council articulated that NATA was built to serve the Telugu community in North America and in Andhra Pradesh. He expressed that the biggest asset that NATA has is the unity among its board members. He hoped and wished that the unity be continued which will set a foundation to the younger generation of Telugu origin. Mr. AVN Reddy conducted the proceedings and discussed topics such as NATA Houston Conference 2012 and financial position of the organization. Members of Advisory Council Dr. Mohan Mallam, Dr. Srinivasulu Reddy, and Mr. Dharma Reddy Gummadi opined that Mr. AVN Reddy being the maiden president of NATA set a strong foundation that reflect moral, cultural values and voiced that the North American Telugu community is glad to have a person like Mr. AVN Reddy. Mr. Pradeep Samala outgoing secretary tabled the new members membership updates and updated the administrative affairs of NATA during the last six months. Mr. AVN Reddy advanced in his outgoing speech thanked the two towering personalities Dr. Prem Reddy and Dr. Malla Reddy Pailla for reposing faith in him and for supporting him the last two years. He thanked other Advisory Council members, the Board of Directors, Regional Vice-Presidents, Standing Committee Chairs and Coordinators for making his tenure as president a memorable one.
Mr. AVN Reddy introduced and announced Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy as the president of NATA for the period between 2013-15. A rousing ovation marked the swearing-in of Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy as the president of NATA. He later took-over the proceedings as the president of NATA. In his maiden speech as president he thanked Dr. Prem Reddy, Dr. Malla Reddy Pailla, Mr. AVN Reddy and others for resting trust on him and letting him spearhead the organization. He outlined his vision for the next two years where a strong emphasis was laid on accentuating community service and promoting culture. He said under his leadership there will be:
- NATA Help line providing medical help for Telugu families in North America,
- Promoting youth by involving them in NATA activities,
- Increasing member base to over 10,000 members,
- NATA journal that outlines various welfare, socio-cultural activities being undertaken by NATA,
- NATA Seva Days during December 2013 in Andhra Pradesh
- Magna-opus convention unfolding in Atlanta, GA World Congress center between the dates of 4th to 6th July 2014.
Later the new board of directors was sworn-in by Dr. Mohan Mallam. The supervision of the Advisory Council and under the direction of President Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy saw the new executive committee being elected for the period of 2013-15 unopposed.

Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy appointed Standing Committee Chairs, Regional Vice-Presidents and Regional Coordinators. Many directors and NATA members occasioned their views unequivocally to strengthen NATA and to ensure that NATA works for the cause of Telugu community in North America and Andhra Pradesh. The meeting was later adjourned by President Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy.
