Harrisburg: The First Harrisburg area NATA awareness and membership drive meeting was held on Sunday 4/10/2011 at Regional Coordinator, SVR Reddy’s house in Harrisburg, PA.
It was attended by a large group of Telugu people who live in Harrisburg and surrounding areas, said Mr. SVR Reddy, a prominent Telugu leader.
The meeting was attended by large group of Telugu community people from the area, who made a firm commitment by joining the NATA family for doing charity activities.
The meeting started with a welcome note by SVR Reddy, (Regional coordinator), chaired by Dr. Raghava Reddy Ghosala (Board of Director), and attendees who included Srinivasa Reddy Emani (Chair, membership committee), Baba Sontyana (Member, cultural services), Sunanda Kambham ( Regional coordinator, Scranton, PA), Ramesh Bathini (Member, community services), Krishna Repaka, Basava Sankar, Satish Chundru, Sadanandam Bharatha, Laxman Bommineni, Srinivas Gamini, Govinda Reddy, Visala Sanivarapu, Kiran Polasani, Kolli Reddy, Rajender Reddy, Jyothi Animireddy, Ramana Reddy, Arjun Rao, Srinivas Reddy, Manohar Reddy, Vijayalakshmi, Muralidhar Reddy, Atreia Sindiri, Purushotham Reddy, Srikanth Reddy, Rammohan Reddy Kallam (Regional Coordinator, Philadelphia), have participated in the meeting.
SVR Reddy updated the group about NATA inauguration and its mission which was agreed upon at the Las Vegas meeting on 1/23/2011. He assured that NATA will take care of all the social interests for Telugu people in North America. He explained the key social and service oriented goals of NATA which include preservation, promotion, and advancement of Telugu culture with utmost transparency and accountability. Dr. Raghava Reddy explained the activities that were carried by NATA during the past few months.
Dr. Raghava Reddy gave details regarding the recent tragic deaths of two Telugu people and how NATA helped. In addition, he highlighted how NATA is helping by getting the attention of SM Krishna, Indian Foreign Affairs Minister, and Foreign Secretary, Nirupama Rao, for the Tri-valley students’ problems.
With the combined effort of the Harrisburg and surrounding areas NATA team, we were able to add 30 new members to the NATA family.
The participants and their families enjoyed a festive environment with delicious food and vowed to play an active role in building a great NATA family. SVR Reddy thanked everyone for making the meeting a grand success.
