Greatandhra.com promoter Venkat Arikatla received the award from glamorous Tollywood star Sharddha Das at a glittering function held at Hyderabad International Convention Centre at Madhapur on Sunday evening.
Chief Minister K Rosaiah, Information minister Geetha Reddy, I&PR Commissioner Partahasarathy were present at the awards function, which was attended by the who’s who of Telugu film industry, including Ramcharan Teja, Kajal, Ashwini Dutt, Manchu Vishnu, Varun Sandesh, Madhurima, Archana, Meher Ramesh, Roja, K Raghavendra Rao, Siva Reddy and Sai Kumar.

The media awards were instituted by the Local Television, a fast growing channel in the Telugu, in association with Tata Docomo. Local TV chief executive officer Vishnu said there was a lot of emotional attachment of the media personnel to the channel, as it shows media in a bright and positive light. The awards highlighted the importance of media personnel, he said.
Several other personnel from the media in the state received awards under various categories at the colourful function.
