Maybe Chiru Should Just Let Go!

Bruce Lee has turned out to be a huge disappointment for mega fans. Despite allegations that power star fans boycotted the movie etc, fact of the matter is that the movie would have been received well if it appealed to the average cine goer. Unfortunately, it did not.

Simply put, Bruce Lee failed to live up to expectations and that’s why it is not doing well. But it brings another aspect of the mega family into discussion.

It’s a known fact that Chiranjeevi pays a lot of attention to the projects of his son Ram Charan, suggesting changes and listening to and approving the scripts. There’s absolutely nothing wrong in it.

Any father would be concerned about the career of his son and it is quite normal for Chiru to want to see his son well established as a super star.

Besides, no one can question the wealth of experience that Chiru has in the industry. But this strength can also occasionally turn into a handicap because of this over possessiveness.

Reportedly, after ‘Aagadu’, the team of Chiru and Co was breathing down Srinu Vaitla’s neck during the making of Bruce Lee.

Chiru was supervising each and every aspect of Bruce Lee. And this is probably where he needs to let go! He should allow Ram Charan to be his own man.

Now that Ram Charan has done quite a few films and is gaining in experience, he should be allowed to select scripts and directors on his own. He will make mistakes definitely but he will also evolve in the process. That will be a much more positive step for his career.

Chiru’s career was shepherded by Aravind but there’s no need to follow the same pattern with Ram Charan for the mega-family today is big enough to call the shots in the industry.

In letting go, Chiru might be doing his son’s career, the biggest favor.
