People for Lok Satta, New Jersey Chapter, marched in the 32nd INDIA Day Parade in New York, to resonate the spirit of Lok Satta’s “Surajyam (Good Governance)” (www.surajyam.in) movement in INDIA. Around 40 volunteers of People for Lok Satta (PFL) & India Against corruption gathered and marched in the parade to promote clean politics for good governance.
Dressed in PFL T-shirts carrying the placards with “Surajyam” movement, volunteers marched enthusiastically shouting slogans of "Vandemataram", 'Jai Hind" , "People For Loksatta" , "Jai Kisan, Jai Jawan" from the 38th street to the 23rd street on Madison Avenue. The slogans aroused the spirits of the bystanders as well, who also joined in hailing Mother India. Young and elderly, men and women, everybody felt proud of singing praises for the country. PFL marching group was supported by the volunteers of India Against Corruption. Both walked together, shared slogans together and both culminated the parade by singing the national anthem.
This is the 3rd year in a row that the PFL group had participated in the parade, carrying themes of "NRI Voting Rights", "Anti Corruption" and now the message of politics. It is only through good politics, it is only through politically conscious citizens that the freedom's full potential can be realized and to that extent PFL group is committed to dedicate it's time, effort and money.
