A recent survey conducted by a group revealed that the awareness of sex has been on the rise, especially in pre-teenagers. It is reported that boys and girls are getting involved in physical intercourse right at the age of 13. While it is the access to internet and the influence of the electronic media with their ‘crime report’ syndrome which is creating a major impact, the generation of today are also keeping themselves update of what is happening and are trying to imbibe the western culture which is leading to this. On the other hand, the lack of guidance and moral teaching from their parents who are busy with their lives has been clouding the judgement of these youngsters to decipher what is right and what is wrong.
In a way, this is an alarming situation which is happening and while the moral policing seems to be the need of the hour, a part of the responsibility also falls on the society and neighbourhood who must be friendly and approachable to the rather confused teens.
