Athma Banduvu Jananetha Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy gari Pradhama Vardhanthi was observed on September 8th 2010 by admirers and followers of Dr. YSR at Ramada Inn located in Richmond, VA. More than 150 people attended the event to pay tribute to great leader Dr. YSR.
Sri Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy garu, younger brother Dr. YSR was chief guest on the occasion. Sri Raja Narreddy garu, an NRI and past TAMA president accompanied Y.S. Viveka garu.
Sekhar Reddy chairman of GRTA welcomed the guests on behalf of Greater Richmond Telugu community.
Narsimha Ranabothu gave introduction of the event quoting the importance of Dr. YSR life and necessity of celebrating legacy of Dr. YSR, conveyed wishes to every community member and honorable guests for coming forward to make this event a success with short notice on a week day.
Govind Maddi introduced YS Viveka and Raj Narreddy to the audience and requested YS Viveka garu to pay homage by lighting up Jyothi and offering floral tribute to Dr. YSR. Following remaining guests offered floral tribute to Jananetha.
Krishna Reddy expressed the strength and qualities of Dr. YSR who walked thousands of Kilometers to know the problems of people directly and understand their struggles they have been facing with draught and poor economic conditions in the state. He mentioned that Dr. YSR will be remembered by everyone as great leader. He noted that we must need a leader to continue the legacy of Dr. YSR to continue the schemes and welfare programs initiated during Dr. YSR rule.
Sridhar Maramreddy gave an emotional speech on how much following and admiration Dr. YSR possess. He noted about the sorrow and grief everyone went through during the critical hours of most unfortunate event occurred to us on Sept 2nd 2009 and aftermath. He also emphasized the importance of new leader to continue the legacy of Dr. YSR.
Narsimha Ranabothu expressed his affection towards Dr. YSR and emphasized the necessity of new leader to take over the helm of affairs to continue legacy of Dr. YSR. He requested every youngster to come forward and support Y. S. Jagan to continue the welfare programs.
Koti Panguluri shared the values and leadership qualities Dr. YSR showed to us. He expressed his sorrow and sympathy to YS Viveka family on the loss their beloved.
Every speaker expressed deep sorrow and hollowness in their feelings of life without Dr. YSR between us now. They quoted that we need to support young and dynamic leader Y.S. Jagan to take up his father’s ideology and ambitions to next level by focusing on helping the needy and see their son walk in the footsteps of his father to continue the legacy and fill the vacuum left in the state politics.
Raja Nar Reddy garu explained in few words as Dr. YSR, a physically and mentally strong, caring, tough minded, intellectually curious and born fighter throughout his life.
YS Vivekananda Reddy garu shared the courage and leadership qualities of great leader while working for the benefit of the people of Andhra Pradesh. He quoted that people may see us as family of six siblings, but Dr. YSR made it a family of five crore brothers and sisters with his love and affection and caring by implementing schemes and programs and improving standards of life of the poor and middle class people in the state. Viveka garu was nostalgic about how much YSR was missed in critical decision making situations.
We played the special Video remembering Dr. YSR provided by Sakshi TV team “Maa Raaju Rajanna”. It was touching.
Siva Eturi offered Vote of Thanks to the guests, participants and volunteers for making the event successful.
Many YSR follower’s dedication and thankless efforts attributed for the event a grand success. Govind Maddi, Narsimha Ranabothu, Venkat Kundavaram, Sekhar Reddy, Pavan, Viswanatha Kichili, Siva Eturi, Ranadheer Kalava and many YSR admirers volunteered and contributed to the event.
