Is Sania Mirza's Marriage A National Issue?
Ever since Sania Mirza has set foot into the professional tennis circuit, more than her achievements on the court, it has been her courtships that have got maximum attention and publicity. Anyhow, the time has come for her to get into a rather serious relationship and that is her wedding.

However, even her ‘Nikaah’ seems to have got its own share of controversy. The reason for that happens to be her would-be ‘Shohar’ Shoaib Mallik, the cricketer from Pakistan. While Shoaib has made it clear that he is not guilty in the Ayesha controversy and that he would be in the city unless his name is cleared, things have got rather complicated with the intervention of the Pakistan government. They have offered assistance to Shoaib and full support.

On the home front, the saffron brigade of Shiv Sena and Ram Sena are breathing fire on Sania for involving with a controversial Pakistani. Currently, every news channel on TV has been covering the Sania marriage issue bit by bit and in that sense, it has surely become a National issue.

But coming to the cracks of it and speaking rationally, this is purely a personal matter of the tennis star and since the legal procedures have already started, any sensible person would rather leave it to the families and the courts to settle it. Thanks to the over enthusiasm and extra interference of the electronic media, Sania’s marriage is currently on the roads and has become a subject of debate between relationship experts as well. The electronic media has been twisting it in every possible way to get the maximum mileage and while our massive nation has got much deeper and meaningful issues like terrorism, lack of basic amenities and price rise, it is a rather ridiculous situation to cater the prime time to Sania’s marriage.

While the channels will never change their attitude, it is the fault of the people to entertain the channels which telecast such programs and elevate it as a national crisis. For now, let us hope that whoever is right gets justice and this thing passes off soon.
