Indian American Festival in Dallas, Texas

Dr. Prasad Thotakura, President of the Indian American Friendship Council (IAFC), a non-profit organization has announced in a press release that IAFC is hosting “Indian American Festival” on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 3:00 – 10:00 PM in Cypress Waters, at the Sound, 3081 Olympus Blvd, Coppell, TX.

Theme of the event is “Merge into the Mainstream”. All are welcome to this FREE Admission, FREE covered Parking event.  

This is an outdoor event with a beautiful open stage, feel free to bring your own lawn chairs, blankets, sit on the grass areas and walk around.

This fun filled family friendly event consists of Food booths, Non-Food booths, Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, Mehandi, Face Painting, Bounce House, Stilt Walkers, Balloons giveaway to Kids and many more. 

More than 500 youth participating in Music, Classical, Semi-classical, Filmy Dance programs.  

Renowned Coppell ISD School Band with more than 80 musicians is performing at the event. 

Spectacular Fire Works as a Grand Finale show at 9:00 pm.

Voter Registration Drive is set up at the event to encourage eligible Indian Americans to register to vote for participating in US elections.     

Special Artists from India -
1. America's Got Talent semi-finalist Mr. Kranthi Kumar from Hyderabad is performing adventurous acts like - breaking coconut with an Index finger, drilling his nose without any blood traces, drinking boiling oil with his both hands, inserting 32 long knives into his throat, hitting a nail on a wooden plank using only his forehead, and many more never seen before 

2. Mr. Parody Guruswamy from Hyderabad, a renowned Comedian and Singer who sings songs in multiple languages backwards.

Indian origin US Policy makers - Hon. US Congressmember Raja Krishnamoorthi, North Carolina State Senator Jay Chaudhari, Hon. Washington State Senator Manka Dhingra, Hon. Ohio State Representative Niraj Antani, Hon. Maryland State Representative Jay Jalisi, Hon. Arizona State Representative Dr. Amish Shah and  

Hon. Texas State Representatives Michelle Beckley, Julie Johnson, Terry Meza, Matt Shaheen have confirmed to attend and many more expected to join the event. 

Hon. Anurag Kumar, Minister (Community Affairs), Indian Embassy, Senior Consul Rakesh Banati, Consulate General of India, Houston, Mr. Abidali Neemuchwala, CEO of WIPRO, Mr. Danny Barton, Coppell City Police Chief, Mr. Brad Hunt, Coppell ISD Superintendent, Mr. Biju Matthew, Coppell City Councilmember are slated to grace the occasion.  

Under the leadership and guidance of IAFC President Dr. Prasad Thotakura, the Board of Directors – John Hammond, Rao Kalvala, Taiyab Kundawala, Dr. C.R. Rao, Piyush Patel, Murali Vennam, Dr. Sat Gupta, Ranna Jani, Ramki Chebrolu and Prof. Niranjan Tripathi are overseeing the arrangements to make the event successful.
