Hyderabad's Prithvi Teja has topped this year's IIT JEE 2011 exam, securing admission to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
The second rank has gone to Delhi boy, Shashank Jain. The fate of more than 4.85 lakh aspirants was decided on Wednesday as the IIT JEE 2011 results were announced, amid scenes of jubiliation and despair.
The results are available on the JEE website, http://jee.iitd.ac.in/result.php. Students can also check the notice boards of all the IITs: IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Mumbai, IIT Chennai, IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee. IIT-JEE helpline numbers set up at every IIT are also providing all support.
IIT Kanpur, the nodal agency organising the IIT JEE this year, have declared that online counselling will be available for all students. The admissions for the 9,600 seats offered by the IITs will be held in two rounds.
IIT Kanpur has also withhold the results of 30 candidates caught cheating at an examination centre in Bathinda.
