Ever since the Telangana chaos began, the issue has been getting toppled into various directions and it must be said that KCR and his men will not rest until they see the end of this beautiful state getting destroyed into two pieces.
Meanwhile, the high command at the centre are going through the ‘road map’ process and as part of this, they have now come up with the committee. It is also being buzzed now that Hyderabad can be given the status of Union Territory given its growth rate and diverse infrastructure. There are few other reasons why this thought has come up.
With Hyderabad as UT, it can serve as capitals for both states in the event of a separate Telangana. Also, the capital city will be subjected to subsidies and other prominent facilities like other UTs have. Importantly, this would keep the business and financial interests of investors alive since they are not at all interested in investing if Hyderabad goes to Telangana. With additional funds as a UT, the chances of improving the infrastructure is increased by multiple times and administration is a lot easier.
However, the flip side of the coin is that a long term solution is not arrived and given the trouble monging nature of KCR and his supporters, they would cause enough trouble even after this happens. They very well realize that without Hyderabad, Telangana is nothing and they are in no mood to develop the region as their focus is on exploiting the resources of the city. Also, there are many technical and political issues linked to the formation of a UT and given the size of Andhra Pradesh, it would require a stable government for atleast few years to get the economy reviving and plan some developmental projects.
The TV news channels have already created a major hype about this one as well. But at the end of the day, what many people wish for is a unified state and right now, they feel that getting along with daily life and growing is important than creating political complications.
