This is the opinion of many Telugu people about the situation following YSR’s untimely death. They have totally lost respect for Sonia Gandhi and High Command now. They think it is more to do with her ego and her cronies’ indifferent attitudes than in the party’s best interests. She is playing with the sentiment of the Telugu people.
Sonia Gandhi is thinking that she can appoint anybody as AP CM at her will and win the elections on her own family charisma. But I think people are not willing to accept the leaders that are created in Delhi anymore. People go with the national parties only if they project the popular leaders that have proved to be trustworthy to majority of people. When Sonia says party is above any person, I read it as only her family is above the party and no one else. It’s ridiculous for her to say this when Congress party holds dummy elections to elect its president as everybody knows. Real state leaders with popular support and own talents are not at the mercy of Gandhi family anymore. These are not Indira Gandhi times. Back in 70s and 80s, Indira Gandhi could get the party to win any state assembly elections on her own and she could make a dummy the CM. Not any more. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are not in that league. Nor would they or any other in the nation now or in future. The times have changed. What Indira Gandhi was to nation, YSR has become to the state. They just needed Indira’s poster to win in elections, now it would be YSR’s poster that would do the trick. Not Sonia’s or Rahul’s. We are really getting hurt by the ways of Ahmad Patel, Jayanthi Natarajan, Abhishek Shingvi, KK, DS, Kaka, Nedurumalli, Jaipal, Purandheswari and others. Let all these leaders go and seek people mandate against YSR and see if these cronies can get 10% of what YSR’s picture would get. These elite people, who most of the telugu people don’t even care do not have the authority to rule over the crores of telugu people’s choice. I defiantly want YS Jagan to break away and free telugu people from unneeded authority of Sonia. The days of sealed cover CM is quite over with the death of Indira Gandhi. Congress party can not win a state other than Andhra on its own.
The so called High Command under Sonia Gandhi would win 20 seats in the biggest state in the union and jump up and down as if that was a great victory. We gave the party 33 out of 42 seats from Andhra under YSR leadership. Take away these seats, and the party won 170 out of 500 seats in the nation. One-third. They distributed sweets and sang victory songs. I would not see this as confident and great leadership and mandate.
Congress workers and fans are eagerly watching who is talking what. The so called seniors who talk against people’s choice, would be punished rest of their lives. They will never win their own seats, even if the party sweeps the elections. So beware KK, DS, Kaka, Jaipal, Purandheswari, Renuka and others. If Rosayya plays his chanakyam and keeps the CM post longer than giving up honorably to the people’s choice, he would have to have protection to go to places where he was loved before while supporting YSR. It’s YSR victory and not your High Command’s.
I am afraid the kind of wrong attitudes that ruined Congress party in 80s in the nation are coming back. High Command choices for CM must be intertwined with popular mandate. The so called leaders that can not win their own seat should not be chosen as CMs. The leader that can get the party to victory lane must be chosen.
If Sonia Gandhi can think level headed, she could see the writing on the wall. Jagan is the people’s choice. By doing injustice to him, she would suffer the worst case scenario. Her son would never become Prime Minister as the state of Andhra Pradesh would not elect any MPs in the next elections.
I urge Jagan and the YSR followers to break the party away to become YSR Congress. We will be much better off and will have more self respect. I am very sure Rajanna would agree with this.
