GRAND Opening of Goshala (Cow Sanctuary) at HATCC

Morganville, NJ: The Board of Trustees of HATCC would like to share the good news that the construction of Go-Shala (Cow Sanctuary) is complete and, our Go-MATA Ms. Barathi and the Go-Putri Ms. Surabhi have arrived at our Sri Guruvaayoorappan Temple a.k.a. Krishnaji Mandir  (www.krishnatemple.org).

Dr. S. (Mani) Yegnasubramanian, Chairman of HATCC noted: “In Sanatana Dharma, Go-Mata is regarded as the mother goddess; she is very dear to Lord Krishna, and His Devotees. We believe, with their arrival, our Brindavan in Morganville, the abode of Lord Sri Krishna is complete!”

According to our scriptures, the cow is believed to be the abode of all divinities. A pious day starts with her worship. She has prominence in various religious festivals.  Cow’s milk, yogurt, ghee, dung and urine are all holy, and are essential for different religious rituals. Thus, cow is an integral part of our spiritual and material life said Dr. S.S. Iyer (Vice Chairman, Operations).

To mark this important landmark occasion in the history of our temple, HATCC is organizing a special function on Saturday, December 7th 2013 from 10.00 am to 12.00 Noon. Please plan to participate in the festivities in the temple premises at 31 Wooleytown Road, Morganville, NJ.

The Goshala is located directly behind the main Temple lying on a 4000sq.ft facility surrounded by a 2 acre grazing area. Our Go-Mata Ms. Barathi delivered a healthy Calf Ms. Surabhi on the auspicious Kartheeka Pournami day in Pennsylvania and they both were brought to our temple a few days later. The facility has the capacity to house at least 4 more Go-Matas in the near future.

For all the religious activities at the temple, only the Go-Mata’s milk will be used. Devotees are hereby requested not to bring any outside milk for Abhishekam purposes. Instead they are encouraged to support the Go-Shala Maintenance. Through this note the Board of Trustees of HATCC are making an appeal to all devotees, friends to come forward and support in this new endeavor.
