NRI Telugus from Philadelphia region joined on Sunday September 13th, 2009 at Chateau Granieri in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
Everyone gathered at the venue to pay respect to the great leader and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Yeduguri Sandinti RajaSekhara Reddy. Dr. YSR, who died in an unfortunate helicopter crash, is being remembered for performing good deeds for the benefit of the people in Andhra Pradesh.
The Chateau Granieri President and host Maruri Venkateswara Reddy invited all the attendees to the sad and unfortunate occasion. He said Dr. YSR was the epitome of a great leader who spent his life living for the people of Andhra Pradesh. He further mentioned how he set an example for future generations and politicians by taking up projects such as the JalaYagnam and 104 Help line projects. He requested that everyone observe a two minute silence to honor the great departed leader.
Dr. Raghava Reddy shared his personal experience regarding how Dr. YSR’s Arogyasri is helping people that cannot afford corporate hospitals for expensive and critical care that a common man can’t afford. He also explained the greatness and sacrifices that Dr. YSR made for the uplift of poor people, farmers and women that are in dire need of help.
Gangasani Rajeshwar Reddy spoke about his first hand experience with him for the last few years and how he dedicated his life and time to really develop and help the people of Andhra Pradesh. Ravi Hajeebu also spoke about his first hand experience about how the poor people were benefited with all the financial programs introduced by Dr. YSR.
Dr. MV Ramana Reddy spoke about Dr. YSR’s political and personal journey towards AP assembly and ultimately to the CM’s office. VCS Reddy spoke about Dr. YSR’s projects and their effect on common man’s life. Emani Srinivasa Reddy spoke about Dr. YSR’s ultimate sacrifice as a CM that made him the ultimate leader and idol for the future leaders. Kallam Ram Mohana Reddy spoke about his experience and feedback regarding the benefits of Dr. YSR’s programs for farmers. Madhusudana Reddy spoke about Dr. YSR ‘s policies and their effect on the poor people. Among other people that spoke on the occasion included Narayana Reddy, Ravi Mayreddy, Madhava Reddy, Rama Surya Reddy, Harinadha Reddy, Nada Muni Reddy and Ravi Potluri.
In the end everybody spoke about how a successor, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy can carry out Dr.YSR’s Harithandhra Pradesh vision going forward and the importance upholding democratic process through respecting the people and CLP majority choice.
In the end, Dr. Raghava Reddy thanked all the participants for taking the time and paying respects to our departed leader’s soul to rest in peace.
