Dr Prashanth Reddy: Will He Be 2nd Indian-American Republican?

Dr. Prashanth Reddy, an Indian-American, is running for the U.S. House of Representatives from Kansas District 3 in the upcoming November elections. He is among a few Indian-American candidates this cycle. 

A triple-board certified physician in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology Dr. Reddy has practiced cancer medicine and held leadership roles for over a decade in Kansas City. Following the 9/11 attacks, he joined the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a military physician and now serves as a Lieutenant Colonel after nearly 20 years.

Born in Chennai, India, Prashanth moved to Manhattan of Kansas at age five. As a high school senior he was selected to represent Kansas in Biological Sciences at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory inspiring his studies in molecular biology and biotechnology.

He earned a B.S. in Microbiology and Psychology from Kansas State University, an M.D. from the University of Kansas Medical School, and an M.P.H. through an NIH program. He also completed the Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School.

Dr. Reddy has consistently served his community and country through his medical and military careers. Now he is stepping up as a candidate for Congress potentially becoming the second Indian-American Republican in U.S. history.
