Dividing India Based On Income Class

The present Government seems to have mastered the art of dividing India sometimes on Caste, Religion, Region and now based on Income class – NRI and Resident Indian by means of direct tax code. Although the government is only keen on collecting taxes of working class by various means, but none to effectively use them. There are live examples of thousands of crores being misused in CWG and many more, on the other hand the food storage has been carelessly left to rot. More the taxes are collected, there is new high in the amount involved in scandals, and this is like pot with many holes. Whom do the money benefit and I am forced to reuse the phrase “rich are getting richer, poor getting poor and middle class will be taxed for each hair on their body”. When do we see the balanced governance?, with this kind of half baked thoughts and bringing them in to force without proper analysis is detrimental to the unity fabric of the country. Are we really under the clout of flawed democracy as being taunted by Americans few years ago? As per my thought goes, it seems so, where every decision is based on winning the voters even at the cost of human lives, safety of nation etc.

Even the CAG report during last general elections mentioned about unaccountability of 50000 Crores, which was reported in media for few days and matter died as it usually happens. Such examples and many more scandals  makes us think tax collection similar to hafta wasooli. The salaried person salary is subject to TDS (Tax Deduction at Source) before it gets in to his salary account, then there is only tax and tax for everything that you do and still the basic facilities are poor. Is there an end to this? No not at all, because there is no unity amongst us, we are not expected to unite and fight, this is the essence of divide and rule policy. Even in my article, I am forced to write on salaried class of Indians, there by separating put other income earning countrymen. The direct tax code has divided the salaried class people as well, this indeed is an achievement of the government.
