When Hyderabad got its celebrity ‘damad’ in miya Shoaib Malik, the city’s e-zens got all excited on various social networking sites, welcoming him to the city of Nizams even as his better half, ‘bhabhi’ Sania Mirza received best wishes from Malik’s homeland Sialkot in Pakistan.
Now with Mahendra Singh Dhoni tying the knot with Sakshi Singh Rawat, there was similar twittering heard in the cyber world. A particular Facebook community is most excited with the development—predictably the Dehradun community. Members here have already rechristened Dhoni as Mahendra Singh ‘Dehradooni’ and gone on to educate Dhoni on how he is a lucky man for having got married at Lord Venkateshwara’s wedding point even as others invited him to the Doon valley to enjoy its litchis. But Dhoni’s wedding has a Hyderabad connection too.
It turns out, his better half is the niece of DIG Abhilasha Bisht, a 1994 IPS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre. Bisht was earlier on deputation in Uttarakhand and is currently on a UN assignment.
