DFW Telanganites welcomed the decision of the Indian Government to form the TELENAGANA as 29th state of India.
They assembled together at Mayuri Restaurant in Irving, Texas on Friday 02/21/14 at 08:00PM in large numbers and participated in the Telangana celebrations distributing sweets to guests, paying homage to all Telangana Matrys and acknowledged the service and dedication of Telanagana leaders.
The gallery banquet in Mayuri was packed with people and echoed only one word with “JAI TELANGANA” slogans every minute of the celebrations.
The gathering of more than 300 people included all Telugu people primarily from Telangana and several Seema Andhra regions.
Several prominent community leaders in the DFW area including local organization TANTEX, National organizations IANT, ATA, TANA, NATA, TDF attended the celebrations to symbolize the brotherhood among all Telugu people and respecting the aspirations and sentiments of Telangana people.
The common message of “UNITY IN DIVERSITY“ from all speakers at the meeting was “The imaginary lines between the states are drawn for the benefit of both regions and fulfill the aspirations of millions of Telanganites, The state lines should not divide the hearts nor should diminish the love between two Telugu speaking brothers”.
The stage was decorated with American and Indian National flags along with “JAI TELANGANA” banner in the middle and photo of Prof. Jaya Shankar garu.
The occasion was started by Mr.Rao Kalvala with a welcome speech and paying respects to “Prof. JayaShankar garu” and martyrs of Telangana struggle, special thanks to KCR garu, Professor KodandaRam garu followed by a detailed Telangana history and struggle for independence.
Speeches from the organizing team members Raghuveer Bandaru, Janaki Mandadi, Upender Telugu, Krishna Rao, Krishna Reddy, Vijay Pitta, Ajay Reddy, Raj Gondhi, Mahendar Kamireddy, Ashok Kondala and several dignitaries including Dr.Alla Srinivas Reddy, Mr. Dayakar Pushkoor, Mr. Gurram Srinivas Reddy(TEA founder), Mr. Sridhar Korsapati (IANT), Vijaymohan Kakarla(TANTEX president), NMS Reddy (TANTEX Past President) was followed by cake cutting, Champagne opening and ended with continuous dancing amidst “Jai Telangana” slogans ended till 02:00AM next day morning.
Telangana NRI Community is a fast growing and large community in Dallas-Fort worth area, and the need for a platform with strong Telangana sentiments and a long term Vision towards social service in America and back home in India, a new DFW Telangana Organization was launched at the celebrations meeting.
Mr. Ajay Reddy shared the fundamentals of the new Telangana organization and described it as three “I”s (Intimacy, Interaction & Inclusion), which is fostering collaboration among people, transparency and Accountability, Inclusion of like-minded individuals. The new Telangana organization will follow the democratic process and will be abided by the by-laws and member mandates. The name of the new Telangana organization will be declared in next few weeks which will be a social service oriented and upholding the rich Telangana culture and organize mass public events and Telangana festivals. It will hold a helpline and encourage entrepreneurship through digital platforms.
The attendees showed eagerness and enthusiasm towards the new Telangana organization and expressed willingness of participation and support for the same.
