Covid-19 Deaths Are More Among Men Than Women

New York: The state Department of Health reveal that among the deaths caused by coronavirus in New York, 61% are men and 39% are women. So far there are about 5000+ deaths in New York alone. The data is also updated on their portal.

Considering the other parameter, it is reported that 63% of the deaths were among the age more than 70 years old and 7% are of the age 49 and below.

The important point to be noted is that out of 5000+ deaths almost 4100 had at least one or more chronic diseases.

Out of the chronic illnesses hypertension is the major cause that has showed up in 55% of the deaths.

Second major cause was diabetes that has resulted in Covid 19 death among 37% of the victims.

The other 8% of the victims were suffering from coronary heart disease, renal disease, dementia and hyperlipidemia.

So, the bottom line is those who are medically and physically fit may have very meagre chance of death, despite Covid 19 attack.

Some doctors are saying, "There are also a few teenagers and active young people among the Covid victims those died. On the contrary there are nonagenarians and 101 year old patients those recovered. The reason can be attributed to their natural immunity levels".
