Shri Sai Palkhi Utsav is an annual event which was initiated by our spiritual mentor, Shri Anil Naik, of Allentown, PA.
We are blessed to organize this Sai Palkhi Utsav every year under his guidance since 2007. We currently conduct Annual Shri Sai Palkhi Utsav in the following states: MA, NH, ME, RI, PA, VA, DC, MD and IL.
Just as in those days when Baba walked on the soil of Shirdi, India from Dwarkamai to Chavadi, Shri Dwarkamai’s Palkhi Utsav recreates the same magic in this country far away from Shirdi, where Baba in his Royal Palkhi visits the homes of His devotees and showers happiness all around.
In Chicagoland area, this annual event starts in the month of Chaitra on the weekend between Gudi Padwa(Ugadi) and Ram Navami . The Palkhi program begins with Baba’s Abhishek and Arati.
The initiation of the Palkhi is done with all the devotees immersing themselves in Anand Bhava as Shri Sai is seated in the Palkhi in the form of the Raj Upchar picture along with His Padukas.
Sai Rainbow, a cultural program primarily for kids, is an integral part of our annual Palkhi celebrations.
After this program, the Palkhi goes round the hall with devotional singing and dancing and it is pure joy to go under the palkhi, give shoulders or just merrily dance along and take blessings from Baba. During the weekend the Palkhi visits the homes of devotees. We wish our family tree grows and more families get the opportunity to get Palkhi at their homes.
This year the Chicago Palkhi is being held between Mar 23-25, 2012, with the Sai Rainbow cultural program being held on Mar 24, 2012 at 6pm in Jefferson Junior High School, 1525 North Loomis Street, Naperville, Illinois 60563.
