Former minister Perni Nani on Friday threw an open challenge to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu during a press meet, daring him to order his arrest if he believes certain videos circulating online are fake.
The issue relates to old video clips of Chandrababu Naidu that recently resurfaced, in which he spoke about cancelling GO No. 746 that limits the Tirumala area to 27.4 sq km and about lifting restrictions on other religious propagation in 19 Hindu temples, including Tirumala.
Perni Nani claimed that he was the one who brought those videos to light and even shared them with his party leadership.
He said if the government believes the clips are deep fake or AI generated, it should take action against him instead of making allegations.
In a sharp statement, he said, “I am ready to face whatever action you want to take. I am the one who gave our leader the video where you said you would cancel GO 746 related to Tirumala. If it is a deep fake, arrest me.”
His bold challenge has now drawn significant political attention.
