Software companies appear to be money trees for numbskull politicians and local netas as well. Whenever the election season comes, that happens to be a time for higher palpitations among small and big software companies. But things are bearable till last general elections as the cash inflow has been encouraging from all ends. But now recession has hit the world and entire nation is shaking in turmoil. At this juncture, the politicians are blackmailing for funds to spend in elections.
A senior software company chairman says, "We have tough time now. Each candidate is planning to spend Rs 5 to 10 Cr in these elections and they are preying on us for funds. We cannot deny anyone and we don't know which party or which candidate may become decision maker for various things, in coalition government. At the same time we have no funds to satisfy everyone. Recession is blowing us black and blue".
Another industrialist said, "Politicians are no less to 'goondas' right now. They want our money to spend. If we deny, by chance when they come to power, we are not sure of continuing our business. They point out every silly aspect in bigger way and almost all government departments from Rand B to IT will fall on us".
"2009 elections prove to be worst time for us. We can neither escape nor fill the pockets of politicians. It's tough time for us", lamented another business tycoon.
"Apart from funds, some politicians are forcing to place their brainless young guys in our company, paying salaries. If we deny things become worse for us. Almost every big company do have a few such names, those take big salaries but never step into office. We are vexed up by this blackmailing, but we have no other go than to accept in silence at this moment", said a software company MD.
"After all, we are businessmen. We do everything for our business but not for political interests. Democracy is wrongly showing its affects on society. Mushrooming parties have become big headache all together", says a pharma-company owner.
On a whole, be it Software or Pharma or any other business, it's prone to fill the pockets of netas for coming elections.
