Can Indian tennis superstar Sania Mirza be considered as a “desh drohi” for marrying a Pakistan national Shoaib Malik?
An advocate belonging to Forward Bloc party Srinivasa Rao filed a case of sedition against Sania Mirza in the Banjara Hills police station, stating that she should be treated as an anti-national, if she married Shoaib Malik, who belongs to Pakistan, India’s bitter enemy. It is not yet known whether the police had registered any case against her.
In his complaint, Srinivasa Rao demanded that Sania withdraw her plans to marry Shoaib. “If she still wants to marry him, she should give up her Indian citizenship, surrender all her assets to the Indian government and the leave the country forever,” he said. Well, the more such complaints are filed these days when Sania is in the news for wrong reasons, the more publicity one get.
