Behind The Scene: Over to the Internet

After the foreign ministry toyed with the idea of using YouTube, Twitter and Facebook to communicate with the ITfriendly generation, it’s the turn of the Press Information Bureau ( PIB) to use these tools to disseminate information about key government schemes and flagship programmes.

According to a source, the interaction of ministers with journalists on key issues is likely to be made available to everyone on YouTube.

Because Youtube and Facebook are here to stay, even the government is taking to these tools with a vengeance. Interestingly, the BJP started telecasting live webcast of important speeches and rallies. Looks like information wars will now be fought on the Internet.
