Bayarea Community Celebrated Independence Day

Set among majestic redwoods, shimmering fountains and bubbling lakes , Sunnyvale American Oaks Club in BayArea's one of the largest Indian communities with more than 800 homes and has highest percentage of Indians living here for a long time.

The Community every year celebrates Indian Independence Day as Festival of India.

65th Indian Independence day was celebrated this year at Fair Oaks Club followed by other Cultural events.

The Club was decorated with Indian Flags and Tri Color ribbons and balloons, this occasion gave the residents a feel back home.

The Program started by Suresh Vuyyuru announcement about in few minutes the parade is going to start with little kids and performers, Several residents along with their kids started with lots of Indian flags and did 3 rounds around the community By sounding “Vandematharam “and “We Love INDIA”, finally Oaks Club Director Brook and several Fair oaks guest visitors from INDIA hosted the flag.

The parade and flag hosting ceremony created exciting moments among the residents and their parents visiting from INDIA, one of the parent was tear with this happiest movements happening in Indian communities living far away from their native country.

Suresh Vuyyuru gave a welcome note and requested Mrs.Vijaya, Mrs. Sailaja, & Mrs. Lima and Mrs. Radha to start the program with Vandematharam.

The Oaks club provides facilities all over the year for various cultural dance groups to practice and improve their talent. All the cultural performances at this event were patriotic and competitive. Most of the residents attended the occasion in traditional cotton wear which showed their patriotism and love towards their country. All the Volunteers wore Tri color Kanduvas. Even Oaks club staff wore Tri color Beed Chains, which showed their respect towards INDIA and Indian people. Kids groups gave some wonderful performances which were choreographed by Mrs.Rashmi and Mrs. Usha Narayanan and Ms. Sirisha performed a Kuchipudi Dance. Tv9 Muthyala Srinivas and Sakshi TV Sudhkar covered the entire event. Manikya Rao photographed the event.

Finally The Independence Day was celebrated by cutting a 50 lb cake sponsored by Hot Breads and Bayarea YSRCongress , Sunnyvale CA. Suresh Vuyyuru requested Senior citizens visiting from INDIA to felicitate Oaks Club Director for her hard work to make this event success. All the residents thanked Fair Oaks Club staff and management for providing all these facilities and allowing them to celebrate our Indian National Festivals. Hot Pakoda was served from Athidhi Indian Cuisine, Sunnyvale and most of the residents celebrated the night with dances until 10 PM. The program was closed by singing Indian national anthem Janagana Mana.
