Andhra University is understood to have decided to honour legendry cricketer Sachin Tendulkar with a doctorate degree at its convocation to be held on December 5.
The University was the first to bestow an honorary doctorate on former cricket maestro Sunil Gavaskar a few years ago. The decision to honor Sachin Tendulkar would be taken at the executive council to be held either on November 18 or November 26.
Apart from Sachin, the Uniiversity will also honour prominent industrialist Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao, chairman of GMR group of companies, by conferring the doctorate on him, university sources said.
