Y. Siddartha, a 26-year-old aeronautical engineer from Nizamabad district was found dead in Spain. He was working there since 2007.
A product of IIT, Chennai, Siddartha is the second son of a doctor couple, Dr Y. Sambashiva Rao and Dr Sujatha, who run a nursing home in Nizamabad. Sources said Siddartha’s parents received a phone call on Friday evening from IIT Chennai that their son was found dead under suspicious circumstances in his room on Thursday.
The Nizamabad range deputy inspector-general of police, Mr K. Rajarathnam Naidu, told this newspaper that they have contacted the Indian embassy in Spain to get more details about Siddartha’s death.
Mr Naidu said the Spanish police has not confirmed if it was a case of suicide or murder. He added that Siddartha has not been responding to phone calls since Thursday afternoon.
“His friends informed the Spanish police that they found his dead body locked in the room,” he said.
The lack of interpreters could delay the particulars of the case, the Mr Naidu opined.
Siddartha’s death has shocked his family and relatives in Nizamabad. The doctors in the city rushed to the house of Dr Sambashiva Rao to console the bereaved family.
