YSRCP Phoenix NRI Committee Celebrates Dr YSR 76th Jayanthi

Phoenix, AZ | July 5, 2025: The 76th Jayanthi of Mahanetha Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Garu was celebrated with great reverence and enthusiasm by the YSRCP Phoenix NRI Committee on Saturday, July 5, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona.

The event was graced virtually and in spirit by distinguished leaders of the YSR Congress Party:

Sri Aluru Samba Siva Reddy, YSRCP State General Secretary  & YSRCP NRI Global Coordinator and Former Advisor to CM (Education) 
Sri S.V. Satish Reddy, YSRCP State General Secretary and Former Deputy Chairman of the AP Legislative Council
Sri Peddamallu Chandrahas Reddy, YSRCP USA Convenor and Former Advisor to CM (IT)

The celebrations began with floral tributes to Dr. YSR, honoring his enduring legacy. A special audio-visual presentation showcased his life, achievements, and commitment to the welfare of the people.

The dignitaries addressed the gathering with heartfelt memories of their time with Dr. YSR, sharing stories of his humility, courage, and people-centric governance.

Sri Aluru Samba Siva Reddy hailed Dr. YSR as a “Leader of the Masses”, highlighting his unmatched connect with the common people. He emphasized the importance of rallying behind Former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to uphold and advance the legacy and vision of the late Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for the development of Andhra Pradesh. He elaborated on the ongoing efforts to strengthen YSRCP NRI chapters across the globe and highlighted the pivotal role of social media in expanding outreach and engagement. He called upon all members to come forward, actively participate, and contribute meaningfully to YSRCP’s global initiatives.

Sri S.V. Satish Reddy Garu reflected on the inspiring character and charisma of the late Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, reminiscing his personal journey of contesting against YSR Garu for three terms. Despite being a political opponent, he shared how that experience shaped him into a better individual, instilling admiration and deep respect for YSR’s leadership and vision. He highlighted the transformative reforms introduced by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's government, particularly the development of government schools and the Village/Ward Secretariat system. He also strongly condemned the repression of social media activists under the TDP regime, urging NRIs to actively engage through social platforms to uphold democratic voices.

Sri Chandrahas Reddy commended the efforts of the YSRCP NRI Team, noting that it has grown beyond a small circle into a strong, dynamic force. He expressed his appreciation for the team’s dedication and encouraged them to continue their active involvement in party initiatives globally.

Sri Galiveeti Vijay Sagar Reddy, YSRCP leader from Rajampeta, also attended the event. He fondly recalled his memories with YSR Garu and praised Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for carrying forward his father’s legacy with commitment and integrity. Having returned from the UK, he emphasized the value of time and expressed happiness at the enthusiastic gathering in Phoenix that came together to celebrate YSR Jayanthi.

Speakers highlighted several landmark welfare initiatives launched by Dr. YSR during his tenure as Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, such as:

Aarogyasri for universal healthcare
Fee Reimbursement for higher education access
Free electricity for farmers
Pavala Vaddi scheme to economically empower women

They emphasized the continued need to support YSR Congress Party and  Former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in upholding Dr. YSR’s vision for the welfare and development of Andhra Pradesh.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all volunteers, organizers, and attendees who made the celebrations a grand success. The Phoenix NRI Committee reaffirmed its commitment to carrying forward Dr. YSR’s legacy and principles.
