No Coronavirus in Telangana!

The Telangana government on Thursday announced that there are no Coronavirus positive cases in the state at present, as tests conducted on both the supposedly positive cases proved negative.

“The only person who tested positive for Coronavirus after his return from Dubai is undergoing treatment. He is recovering fast and is likely to be discharged in a couple of days. As such, there are no Coronavirus positive cases in Telangana,” health minister Etela Rajender told reporters.

He said the two cases – one that of a company in Raheja Mindspace and that of a woman employee of Apollo Healthcare, Secunderabad, whose samples were sent to National Institute of Virology in Pune turned negative. The minister presented the lab reports to the media.

He also declared that all the 21 samples sent for tests on Wednesday proved negative.

“We have been monitoring the situation very closely. The rumours about the virus and the panic among people have no basis,” he said.

The minister said samples from 10 suspected persons were collected on Thursday and sent to the lab for tests.

“Because of the fake rumours, many people are rushing to the hospitals even if they have small throat infection. They are insisting that their samples be collected for tests,” he regretted.
