What's Going On In Jagan Party?

The sacking of former minister Konathala Ramakrishna from YSR Congress party on Wednesday and resignation of former MLA Gandi Babji on Thursday raised several eyebrows over the state of affairs in the party.

Adding fuel to the fire, two other senior leaders of the party from Kadapa skipped the party’s review meeting in the district on Thursday, lending credence to speculations that they might also quit the YSRC.

Already, Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy dropped enough hints about his exit from the party, as was evident from his outburst against party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for sacking Konathala.

Sources said even M V Mysoora Reddy, Jyothula Nehru, Ummareddy Venkateshwarlu and D A Somayajulu are also unhappy with Jagan’s style of functioning and are looking for an exit route sooner or later.

So, what is happening in the party? Sources said Jagan has been feeling insecure with the presence of seniors in the party as they command a lot of respect in their respective constituencies.

“He does not want anybody to have his or her independent identity and all the leaders should only be subservient to him. He is listening to only a few leaders like Bhoomana Karunakar Reddy, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy and others, who just listen to his words and do not argue with him,” a source said, adding that the party might soon lose several others if Jagan did not change his style of functioning and act in a democratic fashion.
