TJAC Opens Its Mouth, At Last!

The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TJAC), which has been virtually maintaining stoic silence over the functioning of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government which led to massive unrest among farmers and people, has finally opened up.

On Sunday, TJAC demanded that the State Government and opposition parties hold detailed discussions on the problems being faced by farmers in the Telangana Legislative Assembly on Monday.

Speaking to media persons after the TJAC's meeting at MLA Quarters here on Sunday, its Chairman Prof M Kodandaram said that farmers' suicide was a reality and therefore, the government should take all steps to resolve their problems.

He said that the Assembly should have a fruitful discussion on the issue and come out with some immediate solutions.

He said that the JAC would also submit its suggestions to the government. He demanded that the government should also seek suggestions from the common people to resolve the ongoing crisis.

The meeting was attended by Devi Prasad, Mallepalle Lakshmaiah, Raghu and other JAC leaders.

Electricity Employees JAC leader Raghu said that Telangana State has been facing acute shortage of power as Andhra Pradesh has been denying the new State its due share.

He said the shortage is to the tune of 15 to 20 Million Units. He said besides focusing on solar and gas based projects, the government should also take steps to minimise the transmission and distribution losses.
