Telugu Desam Party politburo member Nandamuri Harikrishna, son of legendary actor and TDP founder N T Rama Rao, is likely to be nominated as the chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams trust board, if the reports doing rounds in the social media are to be believed.
According to these reports, TDP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister has decided to appoint Harikrishna as the TTD trust board chairman, apparently to keep the NTR family in good humour in the wake of the next assembly elections.
By honouring Harikrishna, Naidu can also bring the former’s son Junior NTR back into the party fold and use his services in the electioneering.
It will also send positive signals to the TDP cadre that the NTR family is very much united.
If the reports are true, it will really be a surprising development in the TDP. For quite some, Harikrishna has been sulking and has been keeping away from the party activities.
Though a politburo member, Harikrishna hardly gets the invite for the politburo meetings, as he does not endorse Naidu’s decisions blindly. And there were many occasions when Harikrishna took a dig at Naidu and his policies.
But of late, he has been keeping silent and even attended a recent politburo meeting.
May be, there is a patch up between Nandamuri and Nara families and to send a positive signals to NTR fans, Naidu might have decided to appoint Harikrishna as the TTD chairman, which is more prestigious than a cabinet berth!
