Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday admitted that his government cannot compete with the Telangana government headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao even after five years.
Addressing a meeting on Friday, Naidu said AP did not get justice from the recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission.
“Telangana has surplus budget, whereas Andhra Pradesh is facing heavy deficit budget. We cannot compete with Telangana even if we work hard for five years. Similarly, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, too, have surplus budget. So, it is difficult to catch up with them,” he said.
Naidu said he would request the Centre to sanction more assistance for development of the State. The Centre should come forward to help the state which is facing huge deficit.
“Though the State is facing financial crisis, I will not be afraid of it and strive for its development,” Naidu said.
