MLC Seat For Srihari, Not For Talasani!

MLC Seat For Srihari, Not For Talasani!

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is understood to have promised to nominate Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari to the Legislative Council under the MLAs' quota.

However, the same facility is not being offered to another minister Talasani Srinivasa Yadav, who represents the Telugu Desam Party from Sanathnagar Assembly constituency.

According to sources, Srihari would be vacating his Warangal Lok Sabha seat as he has now become the Dy Chief Minister in KCR cabinet. Since there is no MLA seat vacant, he has no option but to become an MLC to continue in the Cabinet.

On the other hand, Talasani has to quit the Sanathnagar Assembly seat, since he has defected from the TDP to the TRS and became the Commercial Taxes Minister. But if he quits, he has to contest the by-elections again to continue as the minister or he also should be nominated to the Council as MLC.

Sources said KCR is not interested in giving MLC seat to Talasani but wants him to win the by-elections. However, it is not so easy, as the recent MLC elections indicated that the TRS will have it difficult in Greater Hyderabad and Talasani might not win the by-elections. In that case, he will have to lose his Cabinet post.
