Mega Brothers Speak In Different Tones

The burning Kapu issue has evoked different tunes from mega brothers – Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan on Monday.

Though both brothers condemned the violence that had taken place at Tuni during the Kapu Garjana rally on Sunday, Chiranjeevi spoke in a more aggressive tone than Pawan Kalyan, who chose to play a diplomatic role.

Being in Congress party, Chiranjeevi went hammer and tongs at the Chandrababu Naidu government holding it responsible for the violence during ‘Kapu Garjana.’

In an open letter to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, he expressed shock over the train burning and alleged that the TDP government was responsible for the unrest, as it had assured Kapus to include them in the BC list before last Assembly elections but failed even after 18 months.

The Chief Minister stated that he will allocate Rs 1,000 crore every year for welfare of Kapus but only allocated Rs 100 crore.

Chiranjeevi also demanded that the Chief Minister include Kapus in the BC list without doing any sort of injustice to the BCs already existing and make a unanimous resolution in the Assembly and send the same to the Centre.

On the other hand, Pawan Kalyan, founder of Jana Sena Party was cautious in attacking Naidu. He said the violence was the handiwork of anti-social elements and alleged that some “hidden forces” were responsible for the burning of train and police stations.

Asserting that he was not trying to politicise the issue, he said the State and police administration should have anticipated the trouble and taken adequate steps to prevent such incidents to take place.

"Taking into consideration the huge turnout of agitators, adequate steps should have been taken. Then such ugly incidents would not have taken place", he added.

Replying to a volley of questions, Pawan Kalyan reiterated that he was not trying to derive any political mileage or corner the State government in power.

He was only reacting to the unfortunate incident which could have been averted if required precautionary steps were taken.

He said efforts should be made to resolve the issue through discussions and dialogue with concerned leaders, he felt and added that to achieve any goal a proper action and methodology in a conducive atmosphere should be taken.
