Lokesh Very Selective In Using Twitter

Nara Lokesh, the industrialist-son of the Telugu Desam Party Chief N Chandrababu Naidu, has made it a habit to make guest appearance on twitter, the popular microblogging site.

Lokesh, who is now playing an active role in the party and is being projected as a political heir to Naidu, takes to twitter only when he has to attack the political opponents.

He goes silent for weeks together and then suddenly appears with a couple of tweets, mainly targeting the YSR Congress Party and its president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The latest tweet of Lokesh doing rounds in political circles pertains to the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal on Krishna water sharing among Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.

Lokesh tweeted that the former Chief Minister late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was responsible for the raw deal being meted out to the lower riparian AP.

He said that YSR had made a statement in March 2006, foregoing the state's rights over surplus Krishna waters. It is because of his fault that the state is facing problem now, Lokesh said.

What is surprising is that Lokesh has been silent on the burning issues confronting the state like bifurcation and ongoing row over Telangana and Rayala Telangana.

Never once did Lokesh gave his valuable opinions on the division issue that is affecting millions of Telugu people.

He chose a highly technical matter like Krishna water distribution on which he is not a known expert.

Lokesh has been using twitter as a platform to make sarcastic comments on TDP's opponents.

He has been clearly adopting a pick and choose policy while commenting on the developments.

And, some of the media channels, who are considered close to TDP, have chosen to highlight Lokesh's "aggressive twitter campaign" to corner his political opponents.

Looks like it is a symbiotic relationship between the media and the TDP to promote Lokesh as an icon of the youth.

On bifurcation issue, however, Lokesh has not posted anything on twitter.
