Jagan in secret talks with BJP seniors?

Jagan in secret talks with BJP seniors?

Has YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy been strongly lobbying with the top leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party to seek their help for the smooth conduct of his proposed Padayatra from November 2?

According to a section of media, Jagan had a secret meeting with some senior BJP leaders, besides influential representatives of Sangh Parivar units like RSS and Vishwa Hindu Parishad, a couple of days ago at the residence of a prominent BJP MP’s son in Hyderabad.

It is learnt Jagan went alone in a private vehicle without even taking his security personnel along with him to the house of BJP MP’s son and held secret parleys for over two hours.

While the broader agenda of the meeting was to discuss a prospective alliance between the BJP and the YSRC, the immediate point of discussion was to help Jagan to take up his padayatra without any hassles.

The YSRC president told them that the Hyderabad high court’s direction that he should attend the trial court proceedings in connection with the disproportionate assets case every Friday would be a big problem for him in his padayatra programme.

Jagan also reportedly told him that he would be moving Supreme Court soon to seek exemption from attending the court proceedings. If the BJP leaders could help him out in securing the exemption by prevailing upon the CBI not to oppose the exemption, he would be grateful to them.

Jagan reminded that he always maintained good relations with the BJP and supported the NDA whenever it required his support, like in Presidential and Vice Presidential elections. He wished that in future, too, the YSRC would like to maintain this cordial relationship.

One doesn’t know how much truth is there in these reports, but there has been no confirmation or denial from the YSRC on this rumour so far.

Let us wait and see what the reality is.
