These days, most films are made as multi-language projects. Because of that, choosing a title has become a tough task.
Makers either need a title that works clearly in every language or one with a universal appeal. That is why many filmmakers prefer English titles.
In Tamil cinema, however, giving pure Tamil titles is still common, and films are often released in other languages with the same title, without worrying much about how it sounds or connects.
Now coming to the current update. Suriya is doing a film with director Venky Atluri.
Venky Atluri earlier chose titles like Sir and Lucky Baskhar, which worked well across languages. So the big question was, what title would suit a Suriya film and still work for both Tamil and Telugu audiences?
After a lot of discussion and brainstorming, the makers seem to have arrived at a strong option — Vishwanadham and Sons.
In Telugu, the title can be used as Vishwanadham and Sons. In Tamil, it can be slightly modified to Vishwanadhan and Sons.
For Kannada, Vishwanadha and Sons would also work. Overall, the title sounds flexible and suitable for all languages. Sources say this title is almost final.
Once Suriya’s other film Karuppu completes its release formalities, the makers are expected to officially announce the release date of Vishwanadham and Sons. The team is reportedly eyeing a July release.
The film is being produced by Sithara Entertainments, with Naga Vamsi backing the project. An official announcement is expected soon.
