Jagan Finds Nothing To Gain In Garagaparru!

Wherever YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy goes in Andhra Pradesh, he ensures that he gets some political mileage because the issues give him an opportunity to take a dig at the Chandrababu Naidu government.

But when he visited Garagaparru village in West Godavari district, where there was alleged outcast of Dalits by the local Raju community, Jagan could not find anything that would benefit him politically.

He realised that the issue was just blown out of proportion and that it was just an ego clash between two groups, both supporting the Telugu Desam Party.

So, all that Jagan did in the village was to play the role of preacher, He advised both the warring groups – Dalits and non-Dalits to sink their differences and maintain harmony.

He met both the groups separately and asked them to stay united.

He said acts of omission or commission of one of two persons should not be attributed to the whole village. He counselled them that it was important to stay united and stay together.

While non-Dalits sections said that they wanted peaceful co-existence with everyone and that they had no objection to the installation of Ambedkar statue in the village, the Dalits said that they had no clash with the other castes for over 50 years.

Jagan demanded that the Dalits should be given compensation as per the SC ST Atrocities Act and wanted both the groups to forget, forgive and forge ahead.
