Behind The Scene: TANA-Tandana

Komati Jayaram, the Special Representative of the government of Andhra Pradesh for North America and ex-president of TANA, handed over a cheque for Rs 4.5 crore to Chandrababu Naidu for digital classrooms in government schools.

This largesse by Jayaram has taken everyone by surprise and Jayaram instead of being complimented for such a noble gesture is now the topic of hot discussion.

For starters, people, especially those from TANA are wondering where Jayaram sourced the Rs 4.5 crore from.

Was it Jayram’s personal money because not a single mention of TANA was made when the cheque was handed over? Or is it money belonging to TANA which Jayram is using at his whims and fancies? Or is it just a publicity exercise where a large cheque shown but nothing is ultimately paid to the government but only to the CM personally for having encouraged the branding exercise?

In the name of Hudhud, money was collected from NRI's to the tune of nearly Rs 2 crore and that money is believed to be still lying idle in the bank.

And sadly, whenever most of the NRI organization office-bearers visit India, the expenses for their first-class air tickets, luxury hotels etc are paid for from organization funds.

In short, in the name of Associations, Telgu people have successfully managed to create an MP, MLA style culture there  where officials thrive on public money. As of now, only Komati Jayaram  has the answers.to the question of Rs 4.5 crore.
