“Bathukamma,” the popular folk festival celebrated during the Dasara period in the Telangana region will get State honor along with “Bonalu” across Telangana 10 districts.
During a review meeting on Bonalu, Ramzan festivals and Bathukamma at Secretariat here on Monday, Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao took a decision to accord State honor to both the festivals.
Addressing a press conference along with Information and Public Relations Commissioner Chandravadan at Secretarait here, Excise Minister Padma Rao said that the government is ready to spend adequate funds for the festivals.
KCR is evincing keen interest on visiting temples during these festivals, he said adding that elaborate arrangements are being made to conduct Bathukamma and Bonalu in a grand manner.
KCR has directed the officials to provide uninterrupted power supply to temples and mosques. Besides, the government has taken steps to press in a few medical teams to attend to the devotees as and when necessary who can also get drinking water.
