Anti-Establishment Wave Against Naidu?

Anti-Establishment Wave Against Naidu?

Generally, we come across leaders of various political parties joining the ruling party in the first couple of years because of the benefits associated with power. At the same time, the Opposition tends to remain low.

However, the Chandrababu Naidu government appears to have lost the people’s faith so rapidly in the first year itself that the ruling Telugu Desam Party leaders themselves appear to be disgruntled.

And leaders from the other parties, particularly the Congress party, have already started looking up to the main opposition YSR Congress party, rather than the ruling TDP.

It was evident from the way leaders like Botsa Satyanarayana and in the latest instance, Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad have joined the YSR Congress party.

“It is a clear indication that the anti-establishment wave against Chandrababu Naidu is gradually building up in the first year itself. While the people are openly expressing their resentment, discontent is brewing within the TDP. No wonder, if TDP leaders, too, start joining the YSR Congress party in the coming days,” an analyst observed.

The Andhra leaders of the TDP are said to be terribly upset with Naidu for his focus on Telangana.

The Revanth Reddy episode has brought a bad name to the party not only in Telangana, but also in Andhra Pradesh and in a bid to wriggle out of the case, the TDP chief has diverted his attention to phone tapping and Section 8 issues, revolving around only Hyderabad, while the real issues concerning AP have taken a backseat.

“Naturally, the YSR Congress party is gaining advantage of it,” analysts said.
