Amit Shah Shifts Focus On To AP, T State

The latest news doing rounds in political circles is about the intended tour of BJP national president Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for invigorating people to join BJP.

Well, TRS which is the ruling party in Telangana is not an ally of BJP, though it has an alliance with TDP in Andhra Pradesh. But BJP is not trying to create a strong base in south India.

It has already started its efforts in Tamil Nadu by trying to woo Rajinikanth and now it is trying to do the same in both the Telugu speaking states.

The BJP intends to strengthen the party by touring states like Kerala, West Bengal, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh where it does not have a strong cadre.

The membership drive is bound to generate curiosity and attract them to join the party or at least support the party in future.

Talk in local BJP office is that Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah might tour the states together or separately. Meanwhile, AP BJP president Khambhampati Haribabu has suggested that defectors from other parties must also be allowed into the party.

This clearly shows that the saffron party has decided to establish its roots in the southern states in the coming years.
