Geetha Arts is known for producing quality and big movies, and Bunny Vaas has been producing quality small movies. Hence when he announced a movie introducing ETV Prabhakar as director on his new banner V4 Movies, it created interest.
The trailers seemed promising. Well, has the film lived up to the expectations? Let’s find out?
Story:
Kiran (Aadi), a TV serial director and his girlfriend Smita (Vaibhavi) have come up with a plan to make Kiran’s ancestral palace into resort to clear off the loans. Their TV program “Samsaram Semiya Upma” has landed them in financial mess. They turn this palace into a resort with the help of Sarat (Brahmaji) and Rashmi (Rashmi Gautam).
As they are excited with the new venture, deaths follow. Guests in the resort start to die one after another. Why? Is the resort haunted with a ghost?
Artistes’ Performances:
Aadi Saikumar is just okay in this movie. He has given same expressions throughout the movie.
Vaibhavi has glamour but her acting skills needs much to be desired.
Brahmaji gets terrific role and he kills it with his performance. His is best portion in the film. Next one who shines is Rashmi Gautham as she oozes sexiness.
Host of other actors hardly make any impact.
Technical Excellence:
The film has decent production and technical values but nothing much to rave about. Cinematography, music, and artwork is adequate enough. Editing is neat.

Analysis:
This is remake of 2014 Tamil horror movie called 'Yaamirukka Bayamey'. The film was a hit but it didn’t get much critical praise either.
The story of the Tamil movie itself is so old. Director Prabhakar when he is making debut should have made lot of changes in Telugu to make it racy and gripping but he has used the same silly screams, outdated jokes and a whole lot clichéd episodes.
With every other week, a horror comedy hitting the screens, the genre has almost lost its appeal. Only if a novel twist can be added, the makers should think of attempting it or audiences won’t get excited with predictable trivial jokes. This is what the issue with “Next Nuvve” is.
Deaths in the first half and subsequent jokes are funny and interesting. The "Aachi boochi" song episode is the highlight. Some double meaning jokes have evoked laughs but other jokes are too passé.
Added to this the plot is full of potholes.
'Next Nuvve' starts out on a decent way and shows some spark with the character of Brahmaji but the writers and director have lost the ammunition too early.
Despite all these issues, the first half provides enough entertainment but post-interval the director has repeated the same tricks.
Coming to the positive points, Brahmaji and Rashmi Gautham (with her glamour and double meaning dialogues) have done their best to lift the movie. But the main lead actors Aadi and Vaibhavi have come up with bland act. The debutant director ETV Prabhakar has played regular tricks.
All in all, “Next Nuvve” despite some laughs and double meaning dialogues, falls flat. After interval, it makes you feel tired.
