The ongoing investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Telangana excise and prohibition enforcement department into the alleged nexus between the Tollywood celebrities and drug peddlers is said to be revealing interesting facts.
The SIT authorities, who made a thorough check of the online bank transactions between the film personalities, are learnt to have found that there was a transfer of nearly Rs 1.30 crore from the account of a celebrity into that of drug peddler Calvin Mascarenhas, the kingpin in the drug racket.
This has raised the key questions: whether the film personality bought drugs worth Rs 1.30 crore for his self-consumption or was he doing drug peddling business, selling the drugs to other film stars.
The SIT authorities are understood to have grilled this film personality for hours only on this issue, but there was no proper answer from him.
In any case, it clearly shows the kind of money the film personalities are spending on drugs. But surprisingly, none of them is admitting the facts!
