USA BO: Dull Weekend, No Strong Figures

Dull phase at USA box-office is continuing. From the past few weeks, the collections for Telugu movies in North America are pretty bad.

Even Pawan Kalyan's "Katamarayudu" had not made the audiences to flock to the theaters as its openings were low. This week's new releases too have not made much money.

Venkatesh's "Guru" which won praise from the critics has failed to bring the audiences. It made about $140k from 70 screenings.

It opened with mere $21k on Premieres day but on Saturday, "Guru" witnessed strong growth with $55k collection. Overall, the opening weekend is about $140k (final count yet to be made).

As the film was already released in Hindi and Tamil languages, film lovers had seen it in those versions. Probably this is also one reason for not-so-strong numbers for the Telugu version.

On the other hand, Puri Jagannadh's "Rogue" is a total washout. The movie grossed below $1000. Such a shameful collection for Puri's movie!

Holdover movie Pawan Kalyan's "Katamarayudu" didn't much add to its tally in the second weekend.

As per the rough estimate, it grossed about 40k dollars this weekend. This is second film in a row that a Pawan Kalyan's movie brought huge losses for the USA distributor and local buyers.
