Nalgonda doctor stabbed to death in Kansas

A psychiatry doctor, Achutha Reddy hailing from Nalgonda was stabbed to death in his holistic clinic in East Wichita, Kansas, late on Wednesday night.

A man, preliminarily identified as Umar Rashid Dutt, has reportedly been arrested in connection with the murder. 

Jail records show Umar Rashid Dutt was booked early Thursday morning for first-degree murder. He was arrested near the Wichita Country Club and was being held without bond. 

Officers were called shortly after 7 p.m. to a stabbing at Holistic Psychiatric Hospital on Carriage Parkway, near Central and Edgemoor. Lt. Drew Seiler said had walked into the office to speak with one of the doctors.

A doctor described as being in his late 50s was stabbed multiple times. Officers found him outside the building, and he died of his injuries. 

Lt. Todd Ojile identified the victim as 57-year-old Dr. Achutha Reddy. 

Reddy attended medical school at Osmania University in India in 1986 and did his residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1998. He specialized in psychiatry.
