Dr. YSR pradhama vardhanthi in Detroit, MI

The greatest telugu leader and champion of masses, late chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy gari pradhama vardhanthi was observed on September 2, 2010 at St. Toma function hall in Detroit. More than 400 people attended the event to pay tributes to Athmabandhu Dr. YSR. Sri Y. S. Vivekananda Reddy garu attended the event as the chief guest and he was accompanied by his son-in-law Mr. Raja Narreddy, Singh Constructions CEO Mr. Grewal, Dr. YSR’s long term friend Dr. Prasad, Dr. Harinath Pulicherla and Dr. Sudheer Ummadi.

Sri Y.S.Vivekenanda Reddy garu paid homage by lighting jyothi and offering floral tributes to Dr. YSR followed by all attendees offering floral tributes to Jananetha Dr. YSR. Later, a moment of silence was observed in honor of Dr. YSR.

Hariprasad Reddy Lingala welcomed the guests and gave an introduction speech quoting the importance of Dr. YSR’s life. He explained how Dr. YSR touched the hearts of millions of people and reasoned why people of AP compare our beloved leader with the great king Sri Krishna Devarayalu. Dr. Prasad garu who is a long time friend of Dr. YSR shared his experiences that he had with the great leader of masses.

Sri Y. S. Vivekananda Reddy garu shared the courage and leadership qualities of the great leader while working for the benefit of the people of Andhra Pradesh. He said Dr. YSR made their family of six siblings to a family of fifty million brothers and sisters with his love, affection, and caring by implementing welfare schemes and improving the living standards of poor and middle class people in the state. Raja Narreddy garu quoted Dr. YSR as physically and mentally strong, caring, tough minded, intellectually curious and born fighter throughout his life. He said we would have seen Dr. YSR as the prime minister of India if he lived longer.

Praveen Gunasani honored the chief guest, sri Y. S. Vivekanada Reddy garu with shawl.

Later, on behalf of DTA, Chalapathi Koduri along with his executive committee members honored the chief guest with shawl and memento for his public service and on his visit to Detroit.

Mr. Pichayya Chowdhary shared his experience with Dr. YSR while he was working at Cuddapah. He remembered Dr. YSR’s generosity and helpful nature towards the people who seek help from him. He thanked organizers for organizing the event and explained the need to do events like this to remember Dr. YSR’s life. Ravi Kiran gave an emotional speech expressing the strengths and great qualities of Dr. YSR and criticized some leaders of AP. Rajasekhar Reddy Aila said Dr. YSR will be remembered for the next 400 years to come as a great ruler. Shankar Reddy and Basaparthy Srinivas read poetry about YSR in their speeches. Other speakers include Harinath Pulicherla, Koneru Srinivas, Prithvi, Srinivas Chittaluri, and Sambasiva Rao.

The event was organized by Dr. Sudheer Ummadi, Praveen Gunasani, Hariprasad Reddy Lingala, Ramachandra G Reddy, Ramana Reddy Konuganti, Prabhakar Eragam, and Rajasekhar Aila. Ram Reddy, Jogeswara Rao, Srinivas Raju, Krishna Prasad Alapati, Yugandhar, Sreedhar Thippireddy, P. Srinivas Reddy, Chalapathi Koduri, Narayana Didugu, Hari Kareddy, Prithvi, Ramesh Rallapally and Nagendra Aitha volunteered and contributed to the event.

The heart touching documentary showing the life story of Dr. YSR “Maa Raaju” compiled by Sakshi TV was presented during the event. Delicious dinner by Aahar Restaurant was served and Sunil Pantra from TV9 covered the event. Organizers thanked the participants for attending the event in a big way to pay homage to our beloved leader Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy garu on his pradhama vardhanthi.
